Created as a special project for the 10th edition of The Venice Glass Week 2026, the Cracklè Vase by Giberto Venezia is a handmade Murano glass piece inspired by the historic Renaissance ghiaccio technique.


Developed by designer Giberto Arrivabene Valenti Gonzaga together with master glassmaker Gianni Seguso, the glass undergoes multiple immersions in water, creating an irregular, crystalline surface that captures and refracts light like shards of ice.


Tiny air bubbles and unique fractures make each vase one of a kind, while the textured transparent glass contrasts with a perfectly smooth, polished amethyst glass stopper. An iconic teardrop detail, recurring throughout Giberto Arrivabene’s designs, completes this distinctive expression of contemporary Venetian craftsmanship.

Hand-blown Murano glass crafted using an experimental evolution of the traditional ghiaccio (ice glass) technique. The still-hot glass is immersed multiple times in water, creating a distinctive cracklè surface with irregular fractures, crystalline textures and tiny air bubbles that capture and refract the light.
Hand washing only with lukewarm water is recommended. Avoid thermal shock to preserve the integrity of the glass. To maintain the original brilliance of the glass, mild detergents or alcohol may be used exclusively for manual washing, treating each piece with the same care devoted to its creation.
