A boat was sailing the lagoon back from the islands. Suddenly, the sky turned dark and so did the water, from greyish to green, a very specific, strong green. Sitting on that boat, Giberto knew he needed to transform that moment, that color into an object. Carpe diem!

When back in Murano, the hexagonal glass shape came to Giberto’s mind. It was an old design that didn’t exist before in such a color. The lightness of the hexagonal glass was something that the designer had explored before, and now the match with the new green came as an illumination. It was all about Venice, the lagoon, the sky and those colors.

Finally, a detail was needed, the icing on the cake, something simple yet unexpected. And there is was: the glossy different coloured rims, a sudden contrast that makes drinking from these glasses more inviting than ever.

Today the Laguna glasses make the perfect choice for your table in every occasion.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1557150650184{padding-top: 10% !important;padding-right: 10% !important;padding-bottom: 10% !important;padding-left: 10% !important;background-image: url(https://www.giberto.it/wp-content/uploads/laguna-glass-murano-design-wine-handmade-giberto-luxury-green.jpg?id=5496) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1529675235001{margin-top: 10px !important;margin-bottom: 10px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

The Designer

The life of Giberto Arrivabene Valenti Gonzaga is viscerally linked to Venice. His childhood memories, the most beautiful, are those that have taken place in the rooms of Palazzo Papadopoli, between frescoes of Tiepolo and family affection. “In my earliest memories Venice had other colours. It was more obscure, dramatic, decayed and deeply romantic – simply beautiful. There wasn’t the same light like there is today – more dazzling perhaps, but less poetic.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”3228″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1529675235001{margin-top: 10px !important;margin-bottom: 10px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”5034″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”.vc_custom_1557150693475{background-image: url(https://www.giberto.it/wp-content/uploads/red-laguna-murano-venice-designer-italian.jpg?id=5441) !important;}”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

Craftmanship

Each piece derives from a watercolour sketch made by Giberto on tracing paper: “When I see something that inspires me, or an object that I like, I sketch and rework it – then move on to the realization of it.”

The glass, the main material in the collections, is worked exclusively in Murano. Each glass, each specific object, is blown by master glassmakers in the Venetian furnaces.

Giberto takes his watercolours to discuss with them and refine the project, check its feasibility, and to make eventual changes.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1529675235001{margin-top: 10px !important;margin-bottom: 10px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle”][vc_column][vc_column_text]
